Kars4Kids can take all vehicles (except boats) without keys.
In fact, we don’t even ask if the donor has keys at all. It doesn’t make a difference.
There are occasions where we’ve paid for new keys, but for the most part, we resell the car without them.
All of our purchasers take cars without keys.
So if you don’t have your keys, but we need them for whatever reason, don’t worry- we take care of all of it. It won’t cost you a penny.
It can get expensive to duplicate your key.
Standard keys are fairly cheap (usually about $3-$12), but FOBs, transponders, smart keys, or switchblades can rack up a pretty penny.
So if you don’t have yours, depending on the condition of your vehicle, you might just want to donate it.
