Q:

Can I donate a car for another person?

A:

There are a few instances where such a question could come up, and the answers differ with each.

Let’s go through a few of them:

  1. Being a guide to do it for them. In this case, absolutely! You can be of as much help as you want; if you have any questions along the way, you can give us a call 1-877-527-7454 or visit our hub for more info. We’ve got a lot of good stuff on there! Just make sure they have the necessary papers or ID to prove the car is theirs.
  2. Inheritance. If the original owner gave the car to you or is deceased, you can still donate it. You’ll just have to contact the DMV and get the car titled in your name (if there’s no title, give us a call and we’ll help you work it out) and make sure there’s no lien on the car. 3. Someone else’s name is on the title/registration. You’ll need to get it titled in your name.
  4. Simply donating someone else’s car. We can’t take a donation from someone if they can’t prove it’s theirs.
