From mentorship to literacy, a deep dive into who we support—and how much we’ve given.
💸 How Much We’ve Given
Since its inception, the Kars4Kids Small Grant Program has awarded 374 grants totaling $336,349 to youth-focused nonprofits across the country.
These are microgrants with macro impact—helping community-based groups launch tutoring programs, run robotics workshops, take foster kids to summer camp, and more.
“Small grants. Big change. Over $330K invested in youth-focused innovation and compassion.”
📅 Giving Year by Year
Our grants program has grown steadily, with yearly giving peaking in 2018 at just over $50,000. The chart below shows the growth and reach over time:
Even in quieter years, we’ve continued to support promising projects and underfunded efforts in education, mentoring, and enrichment.
🌎 Where the Grants Go
We’ve awarded grants in dozens of U.S. states, but some stand out. Our top ten grant-receiving states include Georgia, New York, and California.
“Georgia nonprofits have received more Kars4Kids grants than any other state.”
🔍 What Our Grantees Do
Most of our grantees agree to be interviewed on our Small Grants blog, where they share the mission and impact of their work. Based on a review of those interviews, we identified the most common areas of focus—like STEM learning, mentorship, and literacy—among the organizations we’ve supported.
“These focus areas reflect the real-world needs our partners are meeting—whether it’s helping teens chart a career path or giving kids a safe place to spend the summer.”
✨ Looking Ahead
Whether it’s a startup nonprofit helping grieving children and their families or a well-established program prepping teens for college, we’re proud to be part of their journey.
And that’s where we come in.
