That is what happened to Allen and Rosa, who owned\na portfolio of properties in Hartford, Connecticut. They disbanded the holding\ncompany for these properties, but then, of course, they were left with lots of\ncommercial lots with unfortunately high holding fees. To make things worse, the\nsales market was weak in Hartford. Liquidating the properties turned out to be\nnot so easy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The good news is that there were\nno known environmental issues and nothing to prevent building and development\nof the sites. As a result, Kars4Kids was able to accept donation of the\nproperties at no cost to the donors, Allen and Rosa. We handled the title and\ntransfer process; provided a receipt so that Allen and Rosa could receive a tax\ndeduction according to the property\u2019s appraised value; listed the properties\nfor sale, and then sold them at a handsome profit for our charity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>This was a win-win situation. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kars4kids.org\/real-estate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Kars4Kids (opens in a new tab)\">Kars4Kids<\/a> assumed responsibility for a property headache, with the proceeds of the sale going to fund educational initiatives for children.
