insurance.<\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What follows are some things to keep in mind while deciding, if you have it, what to do with your insurance.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><h2 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span data-sheets-value=\"{\" data-sheets-userformat=\"{\">Canceling car insurance on a car you&#8217;re donating<\/span><\/h2><ul><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you do want to cancel your insurance, you\u2019ll need to call up the company and tell your insurance provider that you\u2019re canceling.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Depending on your provider, you may have to send in a cancellation letter too. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is important because you may be able to get a discount on your insurance payment if you have a few months left on your policy, and you certainly don\u2019t want to run into problems if they notice that you\u2019ve suddenly stopped paying your premium.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Make sure to inform your lienholder as well. <\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In some states, you\u2019ll also have to alert the DMV. <\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We will send you a pickup receipt that you can give to your insurance company as proof of pickup.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul><h2 style=\"text-align:
